Mixed page sizes?

Kept as they are. Use Resize afterwards if you want one size throughout.

Can I interleave two files?

Not in this edition; files are appended one after another.

Is anything uploaded?

Everything runs in your browser. The file is never uploaded, and the download comes from the same engine that drew the preview.

Can I include only a few pages from a file?

Yes. Build segments with the page ranges you need, and arrange those segments in the final order.

Can I insert a blank page?

Yes. Blank segments let you add space for a section break or a duplex front/back requirement.

Are the source files resized?

No. Merge assembles the supplied pages. Review different sizes and orientations before choosing the next layout tool.
